Economic Development
The purpose of the Wayne County Business Council is to promote the development of business in cooperation with local chambers of commerce, industry and governmental agencies. Wayne County has developed a comprehensive Strategic Plan for economic development. The Council has been identified as an interested party with specific responsibilities.
The strategic plan for Wayne County is used as a guide, to execute and deploy specific economic development initiatives. The Wayne County Business Council’s responsibility is to facilitate the economic development efforts in the county, using the strategic plan as a reference. The Wayne County Business Council will be active participants in these three areas.
- The promotion and facilitation of regular communication with and among the broader business community in Wayne County.
- The development and promotion of a robust and engaged regional business culture.
- The advocacy and facilitation of authentic regional economic development strategies.
