Canaltown Bed & Breakfast took in its first guest in 1973, providing 38 years of consistent service to Wayne County. Built in 1855, this Greek revival structure was the former Episcopal Parish house. A large, formal dining room with floor to ceiling windows and fireplace provides a warm setting for guests to enjoy their full, candlelight, country breakfast. We welcome guests from throughout the United States and around the world that come to see the local historic sites as well as enjoy hiking, biking and boating the wonders of the Erie Canal.
Canaltown is a founding member of both the Wayne County and Finger Lakes Bed & Breakfast Associations. Starting in 1993, Canaltown began as one of the hosts in the Apple Country Bed & Breakfast House Tour bringing the Wayne County Bed & Breakfast experience to hundreds of people from throughout western NY. We have assisted in furthering education and promotion for the traveling public, local schools and organizations and elevating awareness and pride in Wayne County. TWI Learning Partnership is a sole proprietorship company that is solely devoted to spreading the use of the TWI Programs. TWI stands for the Training Within Industry Service, which was a federal government service that existed between 1940 and 1945. It developed four programs that collectively served to increase productivity in most companies across the USA. The programs were revived in the USA in 2002 because of their success and use by Toyoda. The three “J” Programs teach employees how to properly instruct someone in a job through Job Instruction Training, how to improve what they do through Job Methods Training and how to create and maintain strong positive personal relationships through Job Relations Training. These skills are valuable to both the employee and the company because they result in improved quality, productivity, safety and cost. However, having used these programs for an extended period of time, people will notice that communication, teamwork and morale have also improved. As a result, these programs lay a foundation for becoming a learning organization, where all employees are continually expanding their knowledge and their value. As such, they are required for any organization that desires to continue to exist and to grow.
The training and coaching takes two weeks of my time, which will enable some employees to learn the skills well enough that they are able to pass them on to the remaining employees. My client list includes a variety of companies located around the world, which demonstrates the universal applicability of the TWI Programs.
