Board of Directors

Our 13-member Board of Directors are volunteers, including local business men and women, who are elected to a 2-year term.  The board is not funded by any department of Wayne County.  General board member responsibilities include:

  • Attend a minimum 80% of board meetings
  • Agree to serve a 2-year term
  • Develop an understanding of WCBC programs and services
  • Contribute expertise, experience and knowledge to the board's agenda
  • Support the work of all WCBC committees
  • Accept an assignment to at least one (1) standing board committee
  • Attend as many WCBC sponsored/co-sponsored events as possible

I’m the owner of Eastgate Insurance Agency Inc, located in Ontario NY.  I’m also a Counselor for SCORE which is a division of the Small Business Administration (SBA) dedicated to helping new and existing businesses prosper. My Father told me that if you are going to take from the Community then you have to give back, that is why I joined the Business Council.

Darrin Brentnall

Darrin is an Assistant Vice President / Commercial Lender at Lyons National Bank in Macedon. He has worked at LNB for 5+ years and has worked in various Wayne County businesses for 15+ years. Darrin is a graduate of Newark High School and has an MBA from the University of Rochester.  He is currently First Vice President of the Wayne County Business Council and has an interest in helping Wayne County Businesses flourish. Other activities include Co-Chair of FAME’s Pipeline Committee, Member of the Wayne ARC’s Golf Committee and Audit Committee, & Member of NAGGL’s Region II Liaison Committee.

Diana Hall Lagenor

Diana lives in Newark and works at Wayne ARC in Newark as the Marketing Representative for their workshop, Key Industries. Previous to working at Wayne ARC she and her husband Gary had their own Home Decorating business in Newark for 32 years. She has four grown children, Stephanie (Matt) Cass, Jennifer (Todd) Tones, Peter (Kristen) Lagenor, Brad (Jennifer) Lagenor and 10 grandchildren. Diana is active at the Park Presbyterian Church as a member of Session and the Christian Education Committee, member of the Alex Eligh Community Center Board of Directors, Chairperson of the Newark Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, Kiwanis advisor to the Wayne ARC Aktion Club, member of the Executive Board for Newark Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Wayne County Business Council Board of Directors. In her spare time, Diana enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and walking.

I am a lifelong Wayne County resident and Vice President, Branch Manager of the Palmyra HSBC branch. I have been in the financial services industry in Wayne County for over 20 years. I am a new member of the Board of Directors of the Wayne County Business Council, joining as a chance to help businesses in the area develop and prosper.

Barbara Leisten

Barbara Leisten

Graduate of R.I.T. in Business and began her teaching career at Cardinal Mooney High School followed by several years at a private business college in Tacoma, Washington. Upon her return to New York State, she and her husband opened Canaltown Bed and Breakfast in the historic district of Palmyra.  Barbara is currently President of Wayne County Bed and Breakfast Association, Board Member of Historic Palmyra and the Wayne County Business Council. Also, she is a member of Canal New York, Finger Lakes Bed and Breakfast Association, Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty, Pride of New York, Greater Rochester Visitor’s Association and International Society of Wine Educators. She and her husband have been wine instructors for 30 years at Finger Lakes Community College and various locations throughout upstate New York.

Susie Earl

Susie lives in Newark and was first a Trustee (1986-88) and then Mayor of the Village of Newark (1989-93).  She is a past President of Wayne County United Way, Newark Arcadia Historical Society, Chairman Waste Management Authority, member Newark School Board, Guardianship committee WCARC.  Susie has four children: Kay, Bill, Dan, Walter, one step son Andrew Earl, Daughter in law Sharon Earl, and 13 grandchildren.

Linda, the Owner and Principal Consultant of Business To BEST Consulting LLC, has an MBA from Simon School of Business and over three decades of successful results in small businesses as well as Fortune 500 corporations.  Linda is recognized as an expert in quickly analyzing a challenge and developing the most efficient solution.   She works as an extension to your management team to help you close the gap between your current situation and your desired results.  Her unique methodology of using business process management, quality and technology tools result in sustainable performance improvements and increased profitability.  Linda is a member of Rochester Professional Consultants Network and Digital Rochester. Linda has lived in Marion for over 30 years.  She has four children, four grandchildren and four shelties.

Janet Nelson

Janet lives in Williamson and is the president and owner of J Nelson Enterprise, the parent company of The WorkOut Consortium, OQL Solutions and Added Peace of Mind. The first two companies focus on improving operational and profit performance of small to medium-sized businesses. Added Peace of Mind assists the ‘sandwich’ generation in handling family members who may be in a nursing home or rehab.  Janet worked for nearly 29 years in senior leadership positions at both Xerox and Kodak before starting her consulting business in 2004.  She had a masters’ degree in Systems Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt from the American Society for Quality.

Paul Lowans

Paul Lowans

Drawing on over 25 years experience with computers, Paul provides his clients with a world of experience and “best practices” as Lowans IT Service. Originally from Ohio, Paul moved to Rochester over 40 years ago to work at Xerox Corp. as an electrical design technician. Eventually, Paul became a process engineer, helping software organizations improve their quality. After 31 years of service with Xerox, Paul decided to strike out on his own and Lowans IT Service was eventually formed. Paul has two certifications from the SANS Institute; is a Microsoft Registered Partner; a member of Rochester InfraGard; a member of RPCN; Sodus Chamber of Commerce; Sodus Economic Team and Sodus Rotary.

Dan Moore

I'm Dan Moore and I live and work in Wayne County and have done so for many years.  I am a manufacturing group leader at Optimax Systems, Inc. in Ontario and have  solid experience in manufacturing management, business management, and business ownership.  I am married with 2 grown children and my background also includes a BA in History from St. John Fisher College, a MS in Manufacturing and Leadership from RIT, and 6 years of service in the Navy.
